Part of Abundance World's --- YOU BELONG TO THE LAND --- retreat series
You’ve built the career.
You navigate complex systems.
You show up polished, articulate, and capable.
But when was the last time you:
This weekend in Northern Ontario is for 2SLGBTQIA+ professionals and allies who are ready to step out of performance mode and into embodied skill.
We’ll gather on the land in Northern Ontario — surrounded by boreal forest, shield rock, and freshwater — for a collaborative, wilderness-based learning experience rooted in teamwork, resilience, and belonging.
Over the weekend, you’ll:
This is not about proving toughness.
It’s about reclaiming embodied body competence.
It’s about remembering that as queer and trans people, our resilience is not just intellectual — it’s physical, relational, and ancestral.
Expect shared meals, honest conversations, hands-on learning, and space to exhale without code-switching.
Queer.
Collaborative.
Skill-based.
Grounded.
A discrimination-free environment where your full identity is not just welcomed — it’s understood.
You already know how to survive corporate culture.
Now come remember how to thrive on the land.
A more rooted, capable you is waiting in the forest.

You'll leave with:
• Outdoor Skills
• Embodied Confidence
• Regulated Nervous System
• A felt sense of Community

You will be able to take advantage of a wide range of activities including hiking, flame meditation, recreating your story, all while bathing in forest therapy with likeminded folks.

At Abundance World, we strive to help you root down so you can grow new branches and compost the old you. Find your compassionate heart again.
The date is approaching fast and we’re making preparations.
Don’t miss out!

Full schedule TBA
Crossing the Threshold
I arrive exactly as I am, and that is enough.
Shedding Old Skins
I honour and release who I had to be to become who I am. I allow myself to be held without effort.
Carrying the Embers Home
I am remembering myself every where I go.

"At the retreat, each facilitator allowed me to approach what I was grappling with from a different perspective; in a more concentrated way I was able to focus on these things. I felt the environment was a very safe space." -- Alex

"I came to the retreat feeling harried. I was overwhelmed, sick, busy and tired. After the retreat, I left feeling wonderfully full, like I was needing to digest the changes that opened up over the past few days. The type of after feel where you’re relaxed. Like a “mmm”. " -- Marnie

"This retreat was one of the best things I’ve done in a very long time - so much better than I expected. It was wonderful in a simple way, yet so powerful. I feel more confident in my ability to trust my inner knowing " -- Al

"I really admire the seasonal rhythms that Abundance World's retreats have taught me - getting back in touch with my ancestors (and the greatest ancestor, Mother Earth), has helped me balance my anxiety and depression" -- Heather
We are thankful to work near Little Thundering Waters, Niwa'ah Onega'gaih'ih, Tkaronto. At this crossing was Taiaiagon, "village at the crossing." The village was a major meeting place for Indigenous Nations to gather for trade and council, including the Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, Tuscarora, Ojibwa and Erie. The region is now covered by Treaty 13 signed with the City of Toronto and the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands
